The Challenge
Parcel comparison sites are a genuinely commoditised category; price and convenience, not personality. If Agency's brief was to stand out from that competition through character, and MightyGiant's job was turning their concept into "a moving character, that would bring emotion and connection" to a category that rarely has either.

Our Approach
We always love starting a project with a pencil and paper (although it's often an iPad and an Apple Pencil these days). However it's done, we start by drawing, doodling, scamping. It means we can work quickly, freely, and also amend at speed. We don't lock down anything until we've worked it out in this form.
Once we've got the sketches agreed, then we can move into producing a more finished illustration for sign off, then we move into the 3D modelling phase.
And that's just the design phase. We then move into animation, working on movement tests and rough block outs before we start to finesse things and move through the stages to the final outputs.

The Solution
Character design and animation delivered as a TV campaign, with multiple video renditions produced for different platforms. This worked across Broadcast & Social Media, with dozens of aspect ratios and durations part of the plan from the outset.

The Craft
We put together a little making of, to show the many stages of the project.

Tell us about your project—whether it’s from concept, or if you're already at storyboard stage….we'd love to know more.
