Bringing Sweet Freedom's established characters to life with a world built specifically for them to live in.

The Challenge

Sweet Freedom already had established character designs across their food products. Ponderosa's brief was to animate those existing characters and build a world for them to exist in . The tricky part of this was we only had their heads to go on. Therefore it was down to our designers and illustrators to turn these faces into full 360 degree characters, ready for animation.

Our Approach

Right back to the drawing board, and sketching these characters frame by frame. Rather than dive straight into character, we started with movement. The skipping bunny was key to the opening of this ad, so we developed this movement first. Once we had an idea of the side of them, we could start to develop the rest of the characters. Finishing with the 360 views you see below.

These had never existed before this Commercial, so as well as delivering the Ad, we'd created living breathing moving characters for the brand to use going forward.
