The Challenge

Studio North had a new brand positioning, "Breakthrough Branding", built on distinct brand pillars, and needed movement that could bring each pillar to life without flattening them into one generic style. The brief required exploring three separate visual approaches rather than settling early on a single look.

Our Approach

The process leaned deliberately iterative: sketches and experimental tests. Moodboards were used to study how other animators handled shape and movement. And concept development was shared with the client at each stage rather than delivered as a single reveal. The studio's own description, generating extensive ideas, "sometimes requiring creative restraint", points to a genuinely collaborative development process rather than a fixed brief executed in isolation.

The Solution

A series of short brand films designed for multi-purpose deployment, with three distinct animation styles built to represent different brand pillars, the first developed around animated balloons representing the "creative" pillar.

What Studio North said...

We had a great experience working with Mighty Giant. The whole process felt genuinely collaborative from start to finish, with their team creating an open and friendly environment that made it easy to share ideas and feedback. They really took the time to listen and understand what we were trying to achieve, responding thoughtfully and proactively ..

The Craft

  • Three distinct animation styles developed in parallel, each mapped to a specific brand pillar rather than one generic treatment

  • Iterative concept-sharing with the client throughout development, not a single big reveal

  • Deliberate creative restraint applied to keep ideas focused and deployable, not just experimental
