The Challenge

Regency glass came to us in 2023 to help them with a mammoth staff training transformation project. Making insulated glass units is a highly complex process, with many stages, and many compexities. Regency decided the way to future proof their training, for an expanding company, was to build an online training platform.

We needed guidance from people who were industry leaders, who shared that same vision and MightyGiant just got that from the start. And it was a big thing for us, and the impact, we can't really tell you what that is. It's impossible to ever quantify. But we know internally at Regency, that without MightyGiant, we wouldn't be where we are today.

The Outcome

From the outset we proposed 3D animation as the route for this project. We quickly ruled out filming, for a number of factors. The complexities and cost of closing down machines. But also because our 3D models would give complete flexibility. It also meant these films would be future proofed.

The company move into new premises in 2026. Rather than having to film these again, we now swap the models into our new factory model, and away we go, illustrating that this was a good route to take.

We built models of over 40 machines, from measurements, photos, videos and drawings. This now gives Regency a suite of tools to use for all their films going forward. And assets that can be used in marketing also.

Working with Regency for so long has meant we've not only learnt a lot about the company, but also built a really solid relationship. One that is built on trust, and something we're really proud of.

The Craft

Aside from the technical models, we had another element to this project. Reg…the Rhino! From the very first meeting Regency suggested they wanted to go one step further than the usual training films, and have a character that could help guide the films.

Below you can see the progression from initial sketches, through into modelling, and finally rigged, moving and animated. Once we'd found our 'voice of Reg', Mikey, Reg was alive! He's now become an asset for the company, and has become a presence on socials as part of Regency's marketing.

And finally...

We continue to work with Regency to support with their marketing and training programmes. Regency move into a new premises in 2026, doubling the size of their facility to allow them to launch a ground breaking new product. Exciting times.
