Regency Glass manufactures insulated glass units through a complex, multi-stage industrial process. In 2023, facing an expanding workforce and an outdated approach to training, they came to MightyGiant to future-proof how new staff learn the factory floor.

Regency Glass manufactures insulated glass units through a complex, multi-stage industrial process. In 2023, facing an expanding workforce and an outdated approach to training, they came to MightyGiant to future-proof how new staff learn the factory floor.
The Challenge
Regency's manufacturing process is genuinely hard to explain. Multiple interdependent stages, 40+ machines, and a level of technical detail that's difficult for new staff to absorb from a manual or a one-off induction. As the company grew, that knowledge gap became a real operational risk.
The obvious answer, filming the factory floor, wasn't viable. Filming would have meant production downtime and disruption on machinery that couldn't be paused without cost. So the brief became a scoping decision as much as a creative one: build something that explains the process fully, without ever putting a camera near the line.

Our Approach
We chose full 3D animation over filming specifically because it solved two problems at once: it removed any need for downtime on the factory floor, and it gave Regency an asset that wouldn't age out the moment anything on-site changed.
To make the training genuinely engaging rather than a dry technical walkthrough, Regency had the idea of Reg the Rhino; a branded character guide who carries new starters through the process. We worked on designs and built him into an animated character that has since become a recognisable face across Regency's training and social content.
This is "Clarity First" in practise. Before choosing a production method, we map what actually serves the client's operational reality, not just what looks best on screen.

Every asset was built into a reusable library, not a single-use film. The same models now serve marketing and social content alongside training.

The Outcome
This is where the 3D decision pays off. Regency Glass is relocating to new premises in 2026, and the training films don't need to be reshot. The machine models can simply be repositioned into the new factory environment. A project delivered in 2023 is still actively serving Regency three years on, with a built-in path to keep serving them through a full site relocation.
