The Challenge

The Jaguar I-PACE is an award-winning electric vehicle, but EV adoption in this period was held back less by the car than by a psychological barrier: range anxiety. Buyers needed to understand charging times and charging methods clearly enough to trust the switch. Agenuinely complex, technical proposition that had to be made instantly legible to a non-technical audience.

Our Approach

Rather than a product film, we built a stark, minimalist visual world. Clean graphics, a consistent light-blue line motif tracking the vehicle throughout, designed specifically to carry information without clutter. The aesthetic choice was in service of clarity: every visual element exists to help the message land, not to decorate the car.

The Solution

Delivered over a 6-week production in Cinema 4D and After Effects: a polished 3D piece giving drivers a clear answer to exactly the two questions holding them back. How long charging takes, and the different ways the car can be charged.

The Outcome

This was the second animated piece produced for Jaguar Land Rover's customer content programme.

A stylish piece that not only looked really polished, but also gave the driver all the details; of how long it will take to charge. And the different ways cars charge. The animated film is an ideal way to get into topics like this; it allows more focus on the message. Film is a great medium, but it can sometimes be 'busy'. These approaches allow you to strip things back.

We've a page dedicated to why we love to use Animation in complex engineering projects.

What JLR said...

I only have good things to say about Mighty Giant. The team at Mighty Giant was really easy to work with, we got everything we wanted and on time. The motion graphic was really good and set the right tone for our company and content.

The Craft

  • A minimalist 3D aesthetic chosen specifically to prioritise clarity over spectacle

  • A consistent light-blue line motif used as a visual through-line, tying the informational content together across the piece

  • Built to directly answer the two specific objections holding back EV adoption, not a generic product showcase
